When the honest answer about you is unflattering

At some point an assistant will say something about you that is true and unflattering. A pattern of complaints about support, a weakness relative to a competitor, an old controversy that still lingers in the sources. It stings more than a simple error, because you cannot dismiss it as a hallucination. The model is reflecting something real.

The wrong response is to try to suppress it. You cannot quietly edit the web's opinion of you, and attempts to bury genuine criticism tend to backfire, both with the communities you are trying to influence and with the models that read them. A reputation built on buried problems is fragile, and the machines are increasingly good at surfacing exactly the texture you hoped to hide.

The durable response is less satisfying and more effective. Fix the underlying thing. If the complaint is about support, improve support and let the newer, better feedback accumulate until it outweighs the old. If a competitor genuinely does something better, close the gap or be honest about where you fit instead. The model's view of you follows the reality, with a lag, so changing the reality is the lever that actually works.

It is slower than anyone wants, and it is the only approach that holds. An assistant describing you fairly, including the caveats, is a sign of a brand with nothing much to hide. That is a stronger position than a flawless story nobody quite believes.
